'Raavanan' is directed by Mani Ratnam. And he has come up with a good thought but then he was unable to conceive it perfectly on the screen though the presentation was excellent.
Story:
The story begins with the kidnapping of Janaki (aishwarya), wife of the tough and honest cop Ram (Prithviraj) the very next day after their marriage. This is done by the most feared villain (vikram) who is the law of the land. The villain has a strong reason to kidnap Janaki and due to this, Ram starts to search for his wife and the kidnapper along with his team (Kishore and others). He also takes the help of the suspended forest officer (karthik) to locate the villain. Janaki from her end protests the kidnapping but there is a twist in the story. What happens hereafter is to be seen on the screen.
Performance:
Vikram does a good job as the villain and he looks handsome and evil enough, this is an impressive act from him. Prithviraj puts in good efforts and it appears that his appearance suits the cop image well. Aishwarya looks beautiful and she played her part well. Karthik didn't get the chance to show his mettle but then he made the most of it, Priyamani was good, Prabhu was effective and he did full justice to the role, Kishore was intense, others didn't have anything to offer or add value.
Music:
'Raavanan' music is composed by A. R. Rahman. And the background score was a disappointment, Only one song was Good and remaining were not upto the mark.
