Mother Teresa: "Angel of Mercy"
Prayer for the Princess
Diana, Princess of Wales (R) meets Mother Teresa at the Missionaries of Charity's
residence in the Bronx section of New York, June 18, 1997.
Princess Diana was inspired by Mother Teresa
Mother Teresa is already revered as a modern-day saint by Christians from all corners and denominations. She was born on August 26, 1910, in Skopje (now in Macedonia) to Albanian parents—a grocer and his wife—and named Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu. From an early age, the girl who would become the Mother felt the call to help others. As a public school student she developed a special interest in overseas missions and by age 12 realised her vocation was aiding the poor.
