'Drona' is Directed by Goldie Behl. The director has come up with a thin story line so a lot depended on the presentation
and the narration. The director came with a good thoughts to entertine the adiance but he is failed in that.
A poor story, the movie begins with the kid Aditya (Veer Arya) who grows up in a foster family and as expected he
becomes a victim of humiliations and harsh treatment. Aditya gets uses to this and slowly grows up to be a young man
(Abhishek). Meanwhile, there is an evil wizard Riz Raizada (Kay Kay Menon) who is believed to be the direct descendant
from the Asuras and his only aim in life is to get hold of the much coveted Amrit and become an immortal but for that to
happen he needs to locate someone called 'Drona' and destroy him since he happens to be the guardian of the holy potion.
Riz does not know who 'Drona' is.
As fate would have it, Aditya comes across Riz in an unexpected situation and noticing the Kada on his wrist, Riz
recognizes that Aditya is 'Drona' and soon he and his army are after this young man. Luckily for him, he is saved by the
beautiful Sonia (Priyanka) who is a warrior and to make things clear, she takes him to the roots of his origin. Aditya
meets his mother Maharani Jayati Devi (Jaya Bachchan) and discovers that he is 'Drona', the guardian of the secret to
immortality. And what happens hereafter is to be seen on the screen.
Presentation:
Though the presentation was perfect, it was the narration that went absolutely wrong and that is expected since the script
was weak. The screenplay was alright but the key technical areas like music and cinematography were a major letdown.
Even the dialogues were not punch packed and the story was written shoddily. Editing was missing completely during the
second half and the production aspects were just about okay. The costumes sizzled and the other departments could not
make their presence felt. Abhishek was perfect and came out with a truly impressive performance but sadly his role was
not etched out well which failed to provide the impact. Priyanka looked impressive but not much to show her skills again.
Kay Kay Menon made a mockery of himself since he looked more like a jester than a dreaded villain. Jaya Bachchan was
elegant while Navneet Nishan was annoying. The others did not have much to do in the movie.
